Azerbaijan’s State Security Service (SSS) has detained Ruslan Najimov, an Azerbaijani national suspected of terrorism, abroad and brought him back to the country for investigation, the agency said on Monday.

Najimov, born in 1987, was reportedly hiding under various aliases in a foreign country and is accused of being part of an armed group involved in terrorist activities.

According to the SSS, he was extradited to Azerbaijan on April 15 following a special operation. A court in Baku’s Sabail district has ordered his pre-trial detention for four months.
