U.S. judge dismisses $500 million lawsuit by Azeri lawyer against ANCA, 29 others

A U.S. District Court has dismissed a $500 million lawsuit filed by Azerbaijani lawyer Aynur Baghirzade against the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) and 29 other individuals and entities, including Alphabet Inc., YouTube, and Yelp.
On April 14, 2025, the court struck down Baghirzade’s 198-page Third Amended Complaint, citing unfounded accusations, procedural violations, and implausible conspiracy claims. The court also emphasized that she was not authorized to add new defendants. Baghirzade has since stated she intends to appeal the decision.
In her lawsuit, Baghirzade alleged a vast conspiracy against her involving international terrorism and U.S. congressional participation.
