Azerbaijan, China affirm strategic partnership and mutual support

Azerbaijan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic cooperation, expressing firm mutual support for each country's chosen path of development, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, according to a joint statement issued on the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
"The two sides firmly support each other in choosing their respective paths of development, as determined by their peoples and in accordance with their national conditions," the statement said. "They provide resolute support to one another in safeguarding their core interests, sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity."
The Azerbaijani government reiterated its recognition of the "One China" policy, acknowledging Taiwan as an inseparable part of Chinese territory and the government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legitimate representative of the entire country. Azerbaijan also expressed firm opposition to any form of "Taiwan independence" and voiced its support for China’s efforts toward national reunification.
In return, Beijing voiced strong support for Baku’s peace agenda in the South Caucasus and denounced confrontation-driven geopolitical maneuvering as counterproductive.
The joint statement reflects growing political and diplomatic alignment between the two countries amid intensifying global polarization and competition among major powers.
