Dozens of Telegram channels were blocked at Azerbaijan’s request

A total of 156 channels on Telegram, TikTok and Instagram have been blocked in Azerbaijan for promoting human trafficking-related content, including 124 shut down in 2024, Deputy Interior Minister and national anti-trafficking coordinator Seyfulla Azimov said.
Speaking at a session of the Milli Majlis during discussions on the annual report on human trafficking, Azimov said 44 cases involving the use of digital platforms for trafficking had been identified and resulted in criminal investigations.
In 2024, 30 individuals were placed on a wanted list on charges including human trafficking, operating brothels, involving minors in immoral acts, and distributing pornographic materials. Sixteen suspects have been detained, including three accused of human trafficking.
