Iran urges peace deal between Azerbaijan and Armenia for South Caucasus stability

Iran reiterated its call for a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, saying it was essential for regional stability in the South Caucasus.
“There are two key issues in the South Caucasus. The first is peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We have always emphasized the need to accelerate this process and clarify the signing of a peace agreement,” said Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.
He stressed that Iran takes the resolution of this matter seriously.
On transit routes, Baghaei said Tehran supports the development of regional transport corridors, viewing them as a driver of economic growth and cooperation.
