Bayramov meets US trade mission delegation in Baku

Azerbaijan’s foreign minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Monday met with representatives of the US Certified Trade Mission on the Middle Corridor, the foreign ministry said.
Bayramov highlighted the historic significance of agreements signed in Washington on Aug. 8 with the participation of the presidents of Azerbaijan and the United States and the prime minister of Armenia, saying they opened new prospects for peace and regional cooperation.
He stressed the importance of the project that will ensure unhindered transport between Azerbaijan’s western regions and the Nakhchivan exclave, and recalled Baku’s efforts to develop the Middle Corridor through projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Alat Free Economic Zone.
The minister underlined Azerbaijan’s role in Europe’s energy security, noting the country now supplies natural gas to 14 states, and pointed to its growing renewable energy projects, including the planned Black Sea undersea cable.
