European Parliament President Roberta Metsola welcomed the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia, saying it offers real prospects for lasting peace.

She made the remarks in a post on social media platform X following her meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Copenhagen.

“I had an excellent meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia, who will host the next European Political Community summit. I welcomed the agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which gives real hope for a durable peace, as well as Armenia’s commitment to strengthening ties with Europe and advancing our shared values of democracy, stability and prosperity,” Metsola wrote.
