Azerbaijan marks 5 years since liberation of villages in Karabakh conflict

Five years ago, on Oct. 21, 2020, Azerbaijani forces took control of dozens of settlements during the second Karabakh war.
President Ilham Aliyev announced at the time that villages Gejyegozlu, Ashagy Seyidakhmedli and Zergyar in Fuzuli district, as well as Belend, Papi, Tulus, Hajiili and Tinli in Jabrayil district, had been liberated. He also said troops entered Minjivan settlement in Zangilan district and more than 10 surrounding villages, including Khurama, Humarly and Babayli.
“Glory to the Azerbaijani Army! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!” Aliyev declared in his address that day.
