EU emergency summit on U.S. ‘peace plan’ for Ukraine begins in Angola
An emergency European Union summit on the U.S.-proposed “peace plan” for Ukraine began in Angola at 13:30 Baku time, according to Reuters.
The meeting is taking place on the sidelines of the scheduled EU–African Union gathering in Luanda. European leaders who did not travel to Angola are joining the discussions via video link.
EU Council President António Costa is chairing the unscheduled session to review the situation in Ukraine and assess the U.S. initiative, the agency reported.
Costa earlier wrote on X that EU leaders would discuss the plan proposed by Washington.
