Victims testify in Baku against Vardanyan over alleged Armenian army crimes
A military court in Baku continued hearings in the case of Ruben Vardanyan, an Armenian national charged with crimes against peace and humanity, terrorism, financing terrorism and other serious offences.
During the open session, victims injured in mortar and artillery attacks, explosions and sabotage operations — allegedly carried out by remnants of the Armenian army and illegal armed groups in Kalbajar, Aghdam, Shusha, Aghdara and Lachin — gave testimony.
Several witnesses described severe injuries from shelling; others reported fatalities and damage caused by mines. One testified that his evacuation vehicle, clearly marked with medical insignia, was targeted by mortar fire.
The court proceeded to examine documents and other materials in the case. The next hearing is scheduled for November 25.
