Pashinyan says Azerbaijan and Armenia begin exchanging trade lists
Azerbaijan and Armenia have started exchanging and reviewing lists of goods for potential bilateral trade, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a briefing after a cabinet meeting.
Commenting on the import of Azerbaijani gasoline into Armenia, Pashinyan said the authorities had first studied the market and offered the opportunity to business representatives who, in his words, would not turn economic cooperation into a political campaign.
He added that the proposal to sell Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia was made during a meeting of border delimitation commissions by Azerbaijan’s deputy prime minister.
“We said that such an opportunity exists. Companies from both sides — if I am not mistaken, two from our side — established contacts. At the same time, there were boycott manifestations during the import of the first batch, with some fuel station networks refusing to sell this gasoline,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, after several shipments it will become clear that the market and opportunities are open to everyone, and anyone willing will be able to make use of them.
