A high-level panel discussion on promoting intercultural and interfaith dialogue was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York at the initiative of Azerbaijan’s Permanent Mission to the UN.
The event was co-organised with the University of Essex Human Rights Centre and took place as part of World Interfaith Harmony Week and the International Day of Human Fraternity.
Speakers included Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov, UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Angel Moratinos, UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications Melissa Fleming, and other senior UN officials.
Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Tofig Musayev said the discussion aimed to identify effective approaches to strengthening dialogue and sharing best practices amid growing global polarisation.
