Top Azeri official raps Euronews for its coverage of European Games

Novruz Mammadov, head of the foreign relations department at President Ilham Aliyev’s office, criticized Euronews TV for its coverage of the opening show of the first European Games that started in Baku on June 12.
"Euronews failed to demonstrate that it is an independent media,” Mammadov wrote on the micro-blogging website Twitter.com on Tuesday.
Mammadov went on to twit in English: "Whereas this outlet deems it important to air the news of a gay couple’s marriage four times an hour, throughout the entire week… the airtime dedicated to the magnificent opening ceremony with European athletes in attendance revealed the essence of Euronews.”
Euronews didn't immediately comment on the criticism.
