Polls open in Azeri municipal elections

Azerbaijan is holding municipal elections. APA reports that the polling stations opened at at 0800. The voting will last till 1900.

Information about voter turnout will be posted on the website of the Central Elections Commission five times a day at 1000, 1200, 1500 , 1700 and 1900.

Some 37,077 candidates are running in the municipal elections. A total of 15,035 members will be elected to 1,607 municipalities.

Of them, 18,790 are members of 30 parties and 18,289 are non-party candidates. Eight political parties are participating in the elections.
