Maria McKenna now constantly has to convince people that the 19-year-old fjord is in fact a regular horse, rather than an exotic African breed.She spent more than four hours trimming Petri's mane and coat, giving the 13.3-hand animal an arresting new look.'There were people working in one of our fields and they were completely convinced that she was a zebra or a donkey,' said Miss McKenna, 23.'They actually came up to me to ask so I set them straight and told them she's actually a horse.'We even had a man come out of his house to ask us as he wanted to settle a debate in his house as to what she actually was.'Miss McKenna rides the mare along country roads near her home in the suburbs of Glasgow, and loves it when she tricks bystanders.'I always trim her mane into different shapes so this time I made her very stripy which fooled a lot of people into thinking she is a zebra,' she said.'Some people look completely gobsmacked as they're driving on the road by the field and others just laugh their heads off.'People still ask us if she is a horse or a zebra, so my friend Lori always likes to wind them up - but she usually cracks and gives the game away.'However, the zebra look is not permanent - Miss McKenna is set to give Petra a new cut later this year, and is open to suggestions for the horse's new style.(dailymail.co.uk)ANN.Az
