Trade between Russia and Azerbaijan is growing despite economic difficulties, President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.
Relations between the two countries are based on trust and friendship, Putin said during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the Caspian Summit in Astrakhan.
He noted an almost 2% rise in trade between the two countries.
Aliyev congratulated Putin on the successful Caspian Summit, which he described as “a breakthrough”.
He said relations between Russia and Azerbaijan were developing through constant dialogue.
“We have seen very good dynamics in all areas, including economic, political, energy and humanitarian cooperation,” Aliyev said.
