The visa regime for citizens of Georgia will cease to operate from May 15, 2023. Citizens of Georgia can enter Russia without a visa for up to 90 days, reported from the Russian media.

The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. 

To enter Russia, Georgian citizens will need a passport, diplomatic or service passport, as well as a sailor’s passport. For entry into Russia for the purpose of work or study for more than three months, a visa will still be required.

Those posted as staff to the Georgian Interests Section at the Swiss Embassy and their family members will need a visa for a period of three months. After accreditation, they will be able to enter Russia without visas.
