The political elites of Europe often serve the interests of third countries, ignoring their own national interests, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

Putin noted that he has maintained good relations with ordinary people in the West, and their opinion regarding the Russian Federation does not change, despite the events in the world.

At the same time, the Russian leader noted, the leadership of these countries takes a different stance, but "rethinking is still taking place."
