Rauf Mirgadirov’s lawyer Fuad Aghayev told APA that father of the journalist Habibulla Mirgadirov died at night. The lawyer said he has made a request to the interrogator who is conducting an investigation regarding the criminal case in order to get permission for the journalist to attend his father’s funeral. Rauf Mirgadirov had originally been detained in Turkey on April 19 and deported to Azerbaijan. The court has sentenced him to pre-trial detention. He faced charges under the Criminal Code’s article #274 (treason). Yesterday, the house of Rauf Mirgadirov’s father was searched over the case.
