BP has resumed exports of natural gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field to Turkey after the pipeline carrying the fuel was repaired, company spokeswoman Tamam Bayatli said.

The exports resumed on September 1, Bayatli said.

"Both production and exports from Shah Deniz are continuing as normal," she said.

Gas supplies were halted after the South Caucasus Pipeline, also known as Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, was blown up in Turkey’s eastern Sarikamis region on August 25. It was a second explosion in the pipeline in the same area in less than a month.

The PKK terrorist group claimed responsibility for the blast.

Shah Deniz also exports gas to Georgia.
