Azerbaijan to start production of combat drones next year

Azerbaijan will start producing combat drones next year, Yavar Camalov, the minister of defense industries, told reporters Wednesday in Baku.
The drones will have the capability to monitor and destroy targets, the minister said.
President Ilham Aliyev has given the go ahead for production of such drones, Camalov said, adding that the first combat drone is expected to be manufactured by the end of 2016.
The ministry is also working on plans to manufacture long-range missiles, production of which will start "soon”, he said.
