Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip has met Belarusian and Azerbaijani presidents Alyaksandr Lukashenka (Alexander Lukashenko) and Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of a summit of CIS heads of state held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on 16 September, the Moldovan news agency Infotag reported on the same day.

In a statement for the media, the Moldovan government's press service said the meeting with Lukashenka focused on measures to boost bilateral cooperation and political dialogue.

Filip said that the visit that the Belarusian prime minister plans to pay to Chisinau on 2-3 October will be a good opportunity to identify new possibilities to deepen bilateral relations and establish new partnerships.

Filip also said that Moldova was ready to develop with Belarus joint infrastructure development projects to increase exports of Moldovans fruits, vegetables and wine to Belarus.

During the meeting with Ilham Aliyev, Pavel Filip called for boosting bilateral trade and using all opportunities provided by the CIS free trade agreement and the Moldova-EU free trade agreement. Filip also briefed Aliyev on the economic reforms implemented by the Moldovan government and invited Azeri businessmen to invest in Moldova.

Filip and Aliyev also exchanged opinions on the importance of peaceful settlement of territorial conflicts in line with international norms and principle, the government's press service said.
