Humanitarian aid for Azerbaijan

We are sending a transport of personal protective equipment to Baku. Thus, the solidarity aid continues for our partners under the Eastern Partnership programme, -  said Deputy Foreign Minister Pawe Jaboski at Wroclaw airport.

Poland will use the air transport to deliver to Azerbaijan surgical masks, visors and disinfectant liquid worth nearly 87,000 zlotys, underlined the deputy head of Polish diplomacy. The load will be collected by Azerbaijani State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance. The agency will distribute the supplies among those currently most in need, that is the Azerbaijani society. A week earlier, on 19 June 2020, a similar transport destined for Armenia and Georgia also took off from Wroclaw airport.

Deputy Minister Jab?o?ski also noted that such extensive aid programme was only possible with the support from the Material Reserves Agency and the Ministry of Health. He also thanked the direct organisers of the aid Solidarity Fund PL and the Ministry of National Defence.

There is more to the aid offered by Poland in the time of the pandemic. Teams of Polish doctors, nurses and paramedics of the Polish Center for International Aid were deployed to Italy, the USA, Kyrgyzstan and recently to Tajikistan. Moreover, we sent trucks carrying medical supplies to Belarus, Ukraine, and Moldova. Polish aid is important part of our foreign policy pursued in times of the COVID-19 epidemic. It is also a vital element of Polish development assistance and a means to meet our international commitments.
