"We are pleased that strong Turkish-Azerbaijani military cooperation has risen to the level of an alliance after the Shusha Declaration was signed last year" Turkish Ministry of National Defense said.

"The importance of the Shusha Declaration in ensuring the national interests of our countries in the military and strategic spheres is clear to each of us," the Ministry stressed.

The Shusha Declaration was signed on June 15, 2021, in Shusha by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The "Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkiye” was ratified by the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan on February 1, 2022, and by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on February 3, 2022.

The Shusha Declaration, which came into force after being signed by President Ilham Aliyev and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, embodies all the terms for an alliance between the two brotherly countries.
