17.06.2022 18:00
A group of Albanian media representatives visited the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan on June 1-5.
Well-known Albanian media outlets, such as Balkan Web and News24, published articles and broadcasted video reportage.

According to the reportage, as a result of the 44-day war in 2020, Azerbaijan liberated several cities and more than 300 settlements and villages, which were under Armenian occupation for nearly 30 years. Earlier, about 20 per cent of Azerbaijan's territory was illegally occupied.

To see the outcomes of the conflict, as well as the decades-long history of the conflict and the entire reconstruction process, the News 24 team spent four days in the liberated Karabakh region, which consists of 7 regions, and talked to the special representatives of the President. The reconstruction process is going at an astonishing pace here. Roads, bridges, railways, and airports are being constructed.

News 24 is the first Albanian TV channel to report on the liberated territory of Karabakh, and it has visited the post-conflict area closely.

"The next stop was Shusha! The most precious pearl of Azerbaijan's victory. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has declared 2022 the "Year of Shusha" as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan. Shusha has long been known as the "Conservative of the Caucasus." However, the war left Shusha with destroyed infrastructure, including settlements, religious buildings, and historical and cultural buildings.

"On November 8, 2020, after 28 years of occupation by the Armenian armed forces, the city of Shusha was finally liberated. November 8 is "Victory Day" in Azerbaijan! Today, after decades of destruction and looting, as well as recent bombings by Armenians, the city of Shusha, including its historical and cultural heritage, is undergoing general reconstruction and restoration.

"The coexistence of the population is aimed at ensuring that all the religious monuments and places in Azerbaijan, regardless of religious affiliation, belong equally to the multicultural heritage of Azerbaijan. The government plans to return IDPs to their homes and lands," the reportage says.
