World Urban Forum kicks off in Poland

The Eleventh Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11) started in Katowice, Poland. The Azerbaijani delegation is also taking part in the forum. 

This is the premier global conference on urbanization convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

The theme of WUF11 is Transforming our Cities for a Better Urban Future. The forum is being held in Central Europe for the first time in history. 

The World Urban Forum will focus on six key themes: Equitable urban futures, greener urban futures, innovation and technology, building urban resilience, urban planning and governance, and future urban economy and finance. 

In addition, at the request of Poland in connection with the war in Ukraine, the program includes the reconstruction of cities after the war. 

WUF11 will end on June 30.
