Envoy: Iran glad Azerbaijan regained control over Lachin

As a brotherly country, Iran is happy and glad that Azerbaijan has regained control over Lachin, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyed Abbas Mousavi told journalists.

"We are very happy, this is a historic day. Azerbaijan is restoring its lands, its territorial integrity, its homeland. My congratulations to the government and citizens of Azerbaijan on this event," the Iranian ambassador said.

On August 26, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that the Azerbaijani army was deployed in the city of Lachin, and the villages of Zabukh and Sus were taken under control.
