Azerbaijan MoD: Aim of Armenia's shelling of our positions is to delay signing of peace agreement

"The main purpose of the Armenian side's regular shelling of our positions in the recently mentioned directions is to delay the signing of the peace agreement, as well as the large-scale reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories," the head of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, Major General Huseyn Mahmudov, said at a briefing for foreign military attachés accredited in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The foreign military attachés were informed that Azerbaijan is committed to the tripartite statement dated November 10, 2020, and is interested in establishing peace in the region with the start of border demarcation and delimitation work and the signing of a peace treaty between the two countries. But the other side is exhibiting behavior contrary to the statement by planting mines in Azerbaijani areas and on the supply roads of units. This clearly proves that Armenia is in a military adventure and revanchism position.
