Putin: Compliance with agreements between leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia - only way to peace

It is through the implementation of trilateral agreements, the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the unblocking of transport communications that it is possible to achieve a stable normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an extraordinary CSTO summit.

"Without a doubt, the only possible and realistic path to peace can be the path laid through strict observance by the parties of all the provisions of the well-known joint statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the Russian president said.

"We have discussed this with the prime minister of Armenia many times, and as I understand it, our colleague fully agrees with this. The question is how to find these solutions, it's not easy, but they can only be found on this path. In the future, this will also allow us to conclude a peace treaty,” Putin said.

He stressed that Russia is doing everything possible to achieve comprehensive normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan: "Of course, we cannot stand aside from problems and contradictions between states close to Russia and are always ready to contribute to their peaceful resolution. In general we are certainly interested in the South Caucasus being a calm and steadily developing region.”
