More than 400,000 tons of Russian fertilizers are currently frozen in European ports due to sanctions, Dmitry Mazepin, chairman of the commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) for the production and market of mineral fertilizers, said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, reported from TASS.

"The main problem, probably, was that a fairly large amount of fertilizers was frozen in the ports of Europe. <...> 262,000 tons of Uralchem, 52,000 tons of Akron and almost 100,000 tons of EuroChem were frozen ​​in the ports of Estonia, Latvia, Belgium, the Netherlands," he said.

Mazepin added that Uralchem ​​wants to ask the UN to unblock all 260,000 tons of fertilizers in Europe to deliver to Africa for free.
