Shvydkoy: Memory of Heydar Aliyev deeply respected all over world

The memory of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev is deeply respected not only in the post-Soviet space, but all over the world, Mikhail Shvydkoi, special representative of the president of Russia for international cultural cooperation.
"Heydar Aliyev’s Memorial Day is the day when the whole history of modern Azerbaijan passes before your eyes and you realize what a heavy burden he took upon himself after returning from Nakhchivan. The country faced a real threat of disintegration, and it was necessary to possess incredible energy, incredible power of inner confidence in addition to wisdom, insight and experience. It was a risk to his own life. You had to have great energy, understanding of the mission,” he said.
Shvydkoi also noted that the memory of Heydar Aliyev is honored all over the world: "We highly honor his memory, because we respect him very much. He is respected not only in Russia and throughout the post-Soviet space, but throughout the world.”
Today marks the Day of Remembrance of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, 19 years have passed since his death.
