Azerbaijan deputy FM meets US Congress staff

The delegation headed by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayevvisited Washington on December 11-13, reported from the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

On December 11, the deputy foreign minister attended the conference "Middle corridor: connecting economies through ports and air freight connectivity”, organized in Baltimore, and told about the growing role of Azerbaijan in this important project.

On December 12, the deputy foreign minister took part in an event dedicated to the memory day of national leader Heydar Aliyev at Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Washington.

On December 13, the delegation met with members of the staff of the US Congress. During the meeting, the deputy minister provided detailed information on the processes in the South Caucasus, the course of negotiations on the preparation of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, large-scale projects implemented in the region, and also answered numerous questions from the opposite side.

During the visit, the delegation also took part in a ceremony organized on the occasion of the resignation of Congressman Steve Chabot, who is closely cooperating with Azerbaijan in Congress.
