Korotchenko: Statements against Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity unacceptable

Any statements that cast doubt on Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity contradict the basic agreements between Moscow and Baku, Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the Natsionalnaya Oborona (National Defense) magazine Igor Korotchenko said.
"As you know, relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are based primarily on basic documents signed by the presidents of our two countries. One of the main such documents is the declaration on allied cooperation between Moscow and Baku. Any statements made publicly in the Russian media space and relating to both attacks on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and calls for one or another unfriendly action, which, in the opinion of inflamed minds, Russia should carry out against Azerbaijan, certainly contradict these basic agreements,” Korotchenko said.
He noted that it is counterproductive to support calls of a provocative nature: "When some characters say that Russia must strike at key facilities of the oil and gas structure of Azerbaijan in order to support the separatists in Karabakh, I think that this should be followed by the reaction of Russian law enforcement agencies and structures, since this is actually a call for international terrorism. To share, and even more so to support the calls of a provocative plan, is absolutely counterproductive,” the expert concluded.
Earlier, Mikhail Alexandrov, a leading expert at the Center for Military and Political Studies of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), was fired for provocative statements against Azerbaijan. On December 16, on the air of one of the Russian TV channels, he made statements damaging the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.
Alexandrov suggested launching a missile attack on Azerbaijan. In his opinion, in this way it is possible to stop the supply of Azerbaijani oil to the West and cause an increase in prices for hydrocarbons and also help to resolve the issue of a protest rally on the Lachin-Khankandi road, which he regarded as ‘a provocation against Russian peacekeepers.’
