Russian embassy: 'We are shocked by reports of the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy'

The Russian embassy has extended condolences over the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran.

"We are shocked by reports of the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran that resulted in the killing of a security officer, Asgarov Orkhan Rizvan oglu. We deeply condole with our Azerbaijani colleagues, and we wish the soonest recovery to the injured. We hope that this tragic incident will be investigated in the most thorough way, and the perpetrators will be punished," the diplomatic mission said in a statement
