Tokayev: Kazakhstan stands for soonest conclusion of peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan

Kazakhstan supports the efforts to conclude a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia as soon as possible, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a media briefing following talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Astana.
According to him, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan cooperate fruitfully within the framework of various multilateral structures, adhere to similar positions on many topical international and regional issues.
"In this vein, I want to note that Kazakhstan traditionally stands for the diplomatic settlement of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and also welcomes the efforts to conclude a peace treaty as soon as possible. In general, we have a common understanding of the need to continue mutual support and take joint measures to strengthen stability and security in the region," Tokayev concluded.
