Putin to take part in nuclear fuel loading ceremony at Akkuyu nuke plant

Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in the nuclear fuel loading ceremony at Akkuyu nuclear power plant on April 27 via video link, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

"On April 27, the ceremony of loading nuclear fuel at the Akkuyu plant will take place. After that, the object will receive the status of a nuclear facility. Russian President Vladimir Putin will also take part in the ceremony via video link,” he noted.

Erdogan reminded that with the commissioning of all four reactors, Akkuyu will be able to provide 10% of the country’s total electricity needs.
