EC offers eastern EU countries 100 million euros to lift ban on grain imports from Ukraine

The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, promised farmers in the eastern EU countries, including Hungary and Poland, a 100 million euro assistance program to lift the ban on grain imports from Ukraine, the European Commission said, reported from TASS.

The President of the European Commission sent a response to the EU countries’ letter on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products, the commission said.

"We have already sent a support package of 56.3 million euros to the most affected farmers and are now preparing a new support package of 100 million euros," the commission added.
