Turkish Foreign Ministry warns Armenia

Turkish Foreign Ministry warns Armenia
27.04.2023 09:30
Türkiye strongly condemns the opening of the Nemesis Monument in Yerevan dedicated to those who committed assassination attempts against Ottoman political and military leaders in the early 1920s, Azerbaijani officials of that period, and even some Ottoman citizens of Armenian origin, reads the statement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

"The unveiling of this shameful monument glorifies the bloody terror attack that killed 31 of our diplomats and their families. The way this event was presented in the Armenian press also shows that a distorted interpretation of history still persists in some minds.

Such provocative steps, inconsistent with the spirit of the process of normalization of relations between Türkiye and Armenia, will in no way contribute to efforts to establish lasting and lasting peace and stability in the region, on the contrary, they will negatively affect the normalization process,” reads the statement.
