MFA: Armenia’s reports that it doesn’t produce or plant mines false

"It is regrettable that the Armenian side is avoiding the issue of mine threats that it has been posing to Azerbaijan for the past 30 years and is denying responsibility,” reads a comment of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry regarding the statements of Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan, voiced in an interview with Radio Liberty.
Armenia’s reports to international organizations that it doesn’t produce or plant mines are reportedly based on lies. This was confirmed at the hearings at the International Court of Justice, the ministry noted.
"At the same time, it is completely wrong to present the court’s decision to postpone the adoption of a decision on the essence of the mine issue as a rejection of this issue by the court. It is clear that this temporary decision does not relieve Armenia of its obligations in connection with the cessation of the installation of mines and mine traps on the territory of Azerbaijan, transportation to territory of Azerbaijan with mines of 2021 production along the Lachin road and the provision of accurate maps of minefields,” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry added.
