"We remember the genius who had exceptional merits in restoring the independence of Azerbaijan with deep respect and gratitude," Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Aykhan Hajizadatweeted.

"It is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. With deep respect and gratitude, we remember the genius who had exceptional merits in restoring our independence, state-building and recognition of our country throughout the world,” Hajizada tweeted.
