Rossiyskaya Gazeta: Not only Azerbaijan, but entire USSR needed Heydar Aliyev

Leaders like Heydar Aliyev were needed not only in Azerbaijan, but in the entire USSR, reads an article by the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper about the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

The article notes that the tremendous energy and productivity of Heydar Aliyev helped to implement strategic projects that are paramount for the country, including the Baikal-Amur Mainline, which connected the Eurasian space with the Far East.

"He knew how to make difficult, sometimes unpopular decisions. And he was not mistaken! It can be said without any exaggeration that Heydar Aliyev put his heart into the construction of the century," the author writes.

The article emphasizes that on the example of Heydar Aliyev's life, one can understand what role a person plays in history: "Now Azerbaijan is a reliable bridge between Eastern and Western civilizations, it is one of the most dynamically developing countries in the world.
