Szijjártó: Hungary ready to provide platform for Russia-Ukraine talks

Hungary is ready to provide a platform for negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on the sidelines of the 2nd EU-Central Asia Economic Forum, which is taking place in Kazakhstan’s Almaty.
"Hungary is ready to provide a place for peace talks at any time. This offer is still in force. Whenever Russia and Ukraine express their readiness, we are ready to create all the necessary conditions for this,” he said.
He noted that Hungary is a country that borders Ukraine and ‘pays a high price’ for this conflict. A large Hungarian diaspora lives in Ukraine, whose members are mobilized into the Ukrainian army, and many of them die, he added.
"We are calling for peace, because peace is the only way to save lives,” he stressed.
