Romanian PM: Azerbaijan has important role in energy security of EU

Azerbaijan has an important role in ensuring the energy security of the European Union, Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Colacu said in a meeting with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova.

He noted that the strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Romania are developing successfully and emphasized that Azerbaijan and Romania are not only partners but also friendly countries.

According to the prime minister, Romania is the first EU country to sign an agreement on strategic partnership with Azerbaijan.

Recalling that he discussed the Southern Gas Corridor with his European counterparts, he said that Azerbaijan plays an important role in the field of transport. According to him, there are good opportunities for strengthening the transport links between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea
