The EU welcomes the decisions of Kosovo and Serbia to formally recognize each other’s vehicle license plates and fully abolish the sticker regime, according to a statement by High Representative Borrell on the recognition of vehicle license plates.

This decision is a positive step in the implementation of the Agreement on the Path to Normalization as well as past dialogue commitments related to freedom of movement.

"It demonstrates that making progress in advancing on normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is possible and underpins the importance of continuing to work within the EU-facilitated Dialogue. This also constitutes a step in the right direction towards better regional and European integration of the Western Balkans, which ultimately benefits the citizens of the region," the statement reads.
