Bernard Dewit: ‘We welcome Kazakhstan’s initiative to support Baku-Yerevan peace process’

Kazakhstan’s initiative to support the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as provide a platform for negotiations, has received a positive assessment from the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the chamber, Bernard Dewit, said during the webinar "The Trans-Caspian Corridor: Opportunities for your business.”
He noted that the normalization of relations in the region is important, since without proper coordination between regional countries, the Middle Corridor will not be able to function effectively.
On May 10-11, direct negotiations between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan took place in Almaty. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations on open issues on which there are still disagreements.
