Azerbaijan interested in increased interaction with EU, Shafiyev says

Azerbaijan is interested in increased interaction with the European Union, including energy and connectivity issues, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Center of Analysis of International Relations ( AIR Center) said at the event titled "Bilateral relations between Italy, the EU, and Azerbaijan: Energy security and foreign policy," held at the building of the Italian Senate.

According to the information , Farid Shafiyev drew attention to the statement of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Edmondo Cirielli calling on some EU leaders to abstain from short-sighted comments regarding the situation in the South Caucasus and Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.

"This and other positive steps by Italy indicate that Italy is one of the rational and peace-loving EU countries that soberly takes into account the interests of Italy and the EU."
