Human rights activist Rasul Jafarov arrested

Head of the Human Rights Club, human rights activist Rasul Jafarov has been put in 3-month pre-trial detention.

After giving testimony at the Investigating Department for Grave Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office, Rasul Jafarov faced charges under the Criminal Code’s articles on illegal business, evasion from taxes, and excess of official powers, lawyer Khalid Baghirov told APA.

Jafarov has been brought to the Nasimi District Court.

With the court’s decision, he was put in pre-trial detention for 3 months.
