Simonyan: Peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan develops in a positive way

Azerbaijan and Armenia have managed to reach agreement on many points of the draft peace treaty, with negotiations showing positive dynamics, Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan told journalists, reported from Armenian media.

"Discussions between Baku and Yerevan will continue on the remaining two articles of the peace treaty. I consider it very positive that Azerbaijan also states that there are two points left that need to be discussed," he said.

Simonyan reported that Yerevan is currently discussing Azerbaijan's proposal to withdraw mutual lawsuits.

"We managed to reach agreement on more than ten points of the peace treaty. This, in my view, is a very big victory for both sides. We have the first legal document signed between the two states [delimitation commissions], unprecedented in history. We have a delimited border, we have the logic to continue this border process. The process has a positive character," he said.

Baku and Yerevan previously announced agreement on 15 out of 17 articles of the peace treaty draft.
