German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier reaffirmed Berlin’s position that Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan, speaking at a joint press statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

“Karabakh is Azerbaijan – this is the direct and clear position of Berlin,” Steinmeier said, responding to a question about why no measures were taken against Armenia during the 30-year occupation of Azerbaijani territories.

“We have always stated that this is your [Azerbaijani] territory, and today we confirm Germany’s position once again,” he added.
