Boris Johnson slams Trump’s proposed Ukraine peace plan

Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has sharply criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed “peace plan” for Ukraine, calling it a dangerous concession to Moscow. Johnson made the comments in a Facebook post following a large-scale overnight Russian missile attack on Kyiv.

“Putin is indiscriminately targeting Ukrainian civilians, killing and injuring 100 people in Kyiv, including children,” Johnson wrote.

According to Johnson, Trump’s plan effectively rewards Russian aggression by allowing Moscow to retain occupied territories, block Ukraine from joining NATO, lift sanctions, restore economic ties with the U.S., and rebuild its military for a possible future attack.

“And what does Ukraine get in return for the terrible sacrifices it has made in the name of freedom and democracy? Apart from the right to share its natural resources with the United States — nothing. What in this agreement will actually stop a third Russian invasion? Absolutely nothing,” he said.

Johnson argued that Ukraine must be given properly funded security guarantees from the UK, the United States, and all Western allies to deter future Russian aggression.
